Palais Du Gare, November 2014

I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so today is a picture day. That's the Palais du Gare near Vieux Port, Quebec City. I thought it looked so pretty with a light dusting of snow. Of course, I woke up this morning to at least five inches of snow and it's been snowing all day. C'est la vie, n'est pas?

I'm going to freeze to death.

I woke up this morning and it was zero degrees. Since I've had the same headache for the four days, I decided it was the day to skip my 9 o'clock class. It took all my willpower to leave the house and make the trek to school.

I'm currently wearing sweatpants with fleece lined leggings underneath. I went grocery shopping and I looked like this:

And I was thinking this:

(And also this. Fyi, profanity warning.)

Sunday Walk, pt 2.

Quebec is getting ready for Christmas and looking fairly gorgeous with twinkling lights on every available tree. This weekend all the Christmas markets begin, and I'm planning on attending all of them. What can I say? Christmas is my favorite holiday. I'll be sure to take pictures of all my activities especially since one of the markets is German. (Rumor has it that the spiced wine is amazing. I'll let you know!)

Baby, it's cold outside

A photo posted by Della Hethcox (@dellahethcox) on
I posted this miserable selfie the other day to show how cold it is in Quebec. And of course people find my suffering amusing. Thanks, y'all.

To be fair, Quebec isn't actually that cold, it's just the combination of wind and cold. The wind is horrible, it whips around corners and blows in your ears as though it is a train.

I came home last night and my roommate wanted to know if I was properly outfitted for a Quebec winter. I showed her everything I had and then she kindly gave me some long gloves. Now I feel like a character in a Dickens' novel!

Side story: I did try breaking in my snow boots this week, but I didn't have boot socks. I've regretted that decision every day this week. My legs are so cut up and bruised. They look terrible. Just ask my sister, I sent her a picture. I did buy some boot socks so the future looks brighter. However, I can barely move or touch anything below my calves. C'est la vie!

I wish I could carry a cup of never ending coffee with me everywhere as a cold weather preventative. And I've got a sneaky suspicion that I'm getting a cold.

Hold me?
